The USDA Rural Utilities Service (RUS) Distance Learning & Telemedicine (DLT) grant program has been around since the early ‘90s, and has since been a premier source of funding for rural DLT equipment projects. The DLT has traditionally been a highly competitive and cumbersome program with $20M-$30M available each year. Only the highest scoring applications were awarded, and many more were rejected on technicalities. It became a grant that was nearly impossible for the main beneficiaries – rural providers with limited resources – to receive when competing against larger applicants. However, FY20 funds are expected to be over $65M with even more funds available in FY21. Additionally, the program itself took on major changes in 2018 that not only made the grant easier to apply for, but also reduced the overall match requirements! This webinar, delivered by Learn, Design, Apply, Inc., will highlight those exciting changes, cover topics on how to submit strong DLT applications, and empower your organization to apply for FY20 DLT funding this spring.
