About Us

Our Vision

Our vision is to expand telehealth capacity and utilization in Texas and Louisiana, ensuring equitable access to high-quality healthcare and better outcomes for all communities.

ABOUT US

Telehealth Resource Centers (TRCs) are funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service’s Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) through the Office for the Advancement of Telehealth (OAT).

There are 14 TRCs across the country, including 12 Regional Centers with specialized regional expertise and 2 National Centers, one focused on Technology Assessment and the other on Telehealth Policy. TRCs provide technical assistance to support the expansion and effective use of telehealth, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

The TexLa Telehealth Resource Center is one of the Regional TRCs, serving Texas and Louisiana. As a federally funded program, TexLa offers technical assistance, education, and resources to support both new and existing telehealth programs in the region. Our mission is to promote effective, sustainable, and patient-centered telehealth services.

TexLa regularly evaluates telehealth programs for quality, efficiency, and satisfaction, and is currently developing an online training academy to deliver accessible, comprehensive telehealth education. We also work to educate policymakers to identify and reduce regulatory and legislative barriers by sharing insights on regulatory and reimbursement issues that impact telehealth delivery in Texas and Louisiana.

TexLa is a proud member of the National Consortium of Telehealth Resource Centers, collaborating with other regional and national TRCs to share resources, strategies, and best practices—strengthening telehealth services nationwide.
